Amakusa 01_Maruo-Yaki

4017.jpg

Second destination of Prof. Fujiwara class was Amakusa. Through these trips (the last trip was to Sasebo), we have been learning the influence of any cultural art movements on the local cities. This time, it was raining in Amakusa, but I had a great opportunity to know the islands of Amakusa.

At first, we visited the Maruo Kiln. Mr. Kanazawa who is the fifth present head of Maruo-yaki gave us a lecture about the treasure of Amakusa.

All porcelain was primitive, homely, but stylish. Several local people came to have coffee during our stay.
